K-145 & K-172 Project – MEP Engineering & Construction Services

Shambaugh & son is one of the leading national electrical construction companies.

Shambaugh & Son was selected by Shiel Sexton to join their team in providing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering & Construction services for the "Fast Track" Design Build project to add building K-145 and K-172 to the latest engineering and technology training facilities at Eli-Lilly's new Technology Center LTC in Indianapolis. As part of this team Shambaugh & Son proposed over $ 500,000 in value engineering ideas to the team to bring the project under budget.

Building K-145 is slated to provide the latest in video conferencing and training facilities with over 50 classrooms and breakout rooms. The first floor of K-145 houses a full service kitchen servery and dining area to provide lunch and catering services for over 300 people.

Building K-172 is expanding Eli-Lilly’s commitment to partnering with their engineering firms by providing local office space for team members. These buildings are just the beginning of a comprehensive 10 year plan to consolidate the engineering and construction services for Eli- Lilly.

Eli-Lilly K-172 and K-145 was constructed on a “Fast Track” schedule, meeting the owners requirement for on time completion while staying within budget.

In addition, said projects were performed with no Lost Time Accidents, and consequently set the standard for future Eli Lilly projects.
