Joe is a skilled and passionate safety professional whose expertise encompasses all aspects of workplace safety, including best practices, project requirements, company policies, and standards at the local, state, and federal levels. 

In his leadership role, Joe aspires to be a true teacher for our team members and an accessible resource for our field and safety staff. He has navigated a number of challenging safety incidents, relying on his deep knowledge and professionalism. 

Taking a collaborative approach, Joe is accustomed to working with general contractors, government entities, project specific safety leaders, clinics, and medical professionals. His goal is to develop a robust safety culture, while also working to ensure that our team is properly taken care of on the back-end side of reporting. 

Expertise

Joe came to Shambaugh with a depth of experience from the general contractor’s perspective, working in the construction industry for twelve years before changing his focus to safety. 

He has experience leading the development, implementation, and management of environmental health and safety policies and procedures on a variety of projects, including high-tech facilities, data centers, and a range of commercial properties. 

Joe has a degree in business management from Western Nevada College. Highly trained and certified, his professional accreditations include a full spectrum of OSHA qualifications, specialized safety training, and management, planning, and leadership courses. 

The Personal Side

Joe and his wife have three children. Along with being an avid animal lover, he enjoys motorcycles, restoring and rebuilding old trucks, and outdoor activities.
