Operations Manager, Refrigeration Group
Rick is responsible for oversight of Shambaugh’s major construction projects. His duties include directing Project Managers and assigning the manpower needed to deliver high-quality projects that are consistently on time and on budget.
Rick has more than 30 years of industry experience, working as a project/corporate engineer. The vast technical knowledge Rick has built throughout his career is paired with an intimate familiarity of Shambaugh resources and our construction design-build method.
He has been responsible for capital expenditure budgets, contract negotiations, mechanical design, and quality control for projects ranging up to $20 million in size. His project experience includes waste water treatment, cooler/freezer systems, refrigeration penthouse and evaporator installations, glycol systems, vision systems, ammonia compressors, steam boilers, and a wide variety of dairy processing and pasteurization systems.
Rick has technical education and manufacturer training in a variety of topics, including General Electric Control Trouble Shooting and Maintenance, Tetra Pak Separators and Alfast Systems, Allen Bradley, Anderson Instrument, Evergreen Packaging, and Uniloy Blow Molding.
Additionally, he has HazMat and First Responder safety training. He is an associate member of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR).
