He helps maintain safety awareness by serving and supporting the needs of our customers, both internal and external, conducting safety training, preforming safety inspections, or providing safe work solutions.
Butch has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry, with over 25 years in the field of safety. He attended Saint Joseph College and IUPUI, majoring in construction technologies. Butch obtained a Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA) designation from the National Safety Council in 1999, and is an authorized OSHA 500 trainer for the construction industry.
Butch keeps his knowledge current through seminars and continuing education programs. These include courses from Safeway University – Scaffolding Competent Person Training; Vanderbilt University – Train the Trainer, ICA; Crane Safety; Crosby Rigging Seminar; Ellis Fall Safe – Fall Protection Competent Person Training DBI SALA; Fall Protection Competent Person Inspector Course; LG & E Energy, Energy Services; Passport Contractor Safety Process Train-the Trainer; AGC - Trenching and Excavation Training; and IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification Program. Additionally, he has attended courses on Confined Space Entry and Confined Space Rescue, Hazmat Emergency Responders, Hazmat Incident Scene Command, High Angle Rescue, Fire Brigade Training, and Arc Flash and Electrical Safety Training. Finally, he has attended professional events such as the MCAA National Convention, the EMCOR Safety Conference, and the OHSA Safety Expo.
Butch is a member of the National Safety Council, the Metropolitan Indianapolis Safety Coalition for Safety (MICCS), the Greater Lafayette Area Safety Council (GLASC), and the Building Contractors Association.
The Personal Side
Butch is married with three children. He has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, and he enjoys shooting trap, boating, golfing, and a sunny beach.
