Hot Ethylene Glycol Skid

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. was contracted by Eli Lilly and Company to fabricate the above hot ethylene glycol skid for the upgrade of the T27 utilities systems. The skid is used to circulate a supply of 127°C, 40% ethylene glycol to and from Building T27. The skid contains:

  • Two (2) 50 hp pumps supplying 600 gpm of ethylene glycol each.
  • One (1) 4.8 million BTU/h shell and tube heat exchanger.
  • One (1) 1,000 gallon ethylene glycol storage tank.
  • Condensate pump, manual valves, automated valves, instruments, wiring, control panels, piping, heat tracing, insulation and jacketing.

The hot ethylene glycol skid was constructed, from issuance of contract to date of delivery, in only seven (7) weeks utilizing our state-of-the-art prefabrication facility.
