As the executive in charge of Shambaugh’s Ed Grace Division, Dave ensures that clients get the expert mechanical systems needed for high-performance facilities.

His responsibilities include overseeing proposal and estimate development, approving procurement requests, and ensuring that the division has the management and other manpower needed to deliver high-quality projects consistently on time and on budget.

He also monitors safety compliance, tracks training activities, and manages the administrative functions necessary for maximum efficiency and service responsiveness. In the process, he enables delivery of comprehensive facility solutions that meet clients’ highest expectations, while providing an ongoing return on their investment.

Expertise

Dave has been with the Ed Grace Division for over 43 years, approximately 25 of those with Shambaugh & Son. During that time, he has held estimating, QA/QC (including the writing and maintaining of QC Manual for ASME and NB certifications), project management, operations management, and division management positions. Using expertise that spans the range from project estimating to procurement, he has worked on industrial, institutional, and commercial Design-Build and other projects valued from a few thousand dollars up to $57 million.

Dave holds a bachelor’s in Industrial Management from Purdue University. He has also completed the Dale Carnegie Course, where he earned the program’s highest achievement award. In addition, he has over 50 hours per year of continuing education through Fails Management Institute, Disney Institute, Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), National Electrical Contractors of America (NECA), Shambaugh & Son University and EMCOR LMS.

Dave serves as Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Wabash Valley MCA, where he is also chairman of negotiating, nominating, scholarship, and industry promotion committees. Dave also serves as Chairman of the MCA of Indiana’s Board of Directors, where he is also on the finance and scholarship committees, and chairman of the labor relations committee.
